A student completing a coding bootcamp with HyperionDev, should note that it is important to keep track of all the materials they receive throughout the course, including assignments. These assignments are shared with them via Dropbox, and it is essential to ensure that a student has access to their Dropbox folder and that they can upload their assignments without any issues.
If a student experiences any issues with Dropbox, the following information may be useful::
They should check their email for a Dropbox invitation:
On the first day of the bootcamp, they will receive an email invitation to collaborate and access their Dropbox folder. Students should ensure that they accept the invitation and add the folder to their Dropbox. Please note that their course content will be shared with the email address that they have provided to the bootcamp.
When setting up your dropbox account:
Kindly ensure you are using the Basic (free) plan instead of the business account as this may require fees.
Dropbox offers a basic free account with 2GB of storage. During sign-up, students should be sure not to select the “free trial” version, as this will require payment upon completion of the trial period. The basic free account has sufficient space for them to upload their assignments. (https://www.dropbox.com/basic)
Avoid using the Dropbox app:
We recommend that students avoid using the Dropbox app because it automatically backs up personal files and photos, which can quickly fill up the 2GB of free storage space. Students should ensure that they only upload their course-related files and not their personal files.
Check for common sync issues:
There are a few common reasons for Dropbox sync issues. These include:
Choosing the free trial version during sign-up, which has expired.
Their 2GB free storage has been filled up.
Their device was not connected to the internet when they uploaded the file, or their internet connection was interrupted.
Troubleshooting:
If a student encounters any other issues with Dropbox, they should refer to the Dropbox Help Center for troubleshooting tips and solutions.
Dropbox is an essential tool for sharing and submitting student assignments during their coding bootcamp. Students should ensure that they have access to their Dropbox folder, avoid using the app to store personal files, and troubleshoot any sync issues by referring to the Dropbox Help Center HERE.
